Task 1: Rahdhitya

Hello everyone.. I'm sure not all of you know me, except for my classmates..
Well, let me introduce my self first. My name is Rahdhitya Yudhistira. You can call me Rahdhit for short.
I don't really know the history of my name, but my parents once told me that my name is taken from one of Wayang characters. Again, I don't quite remember what it means, guess I have to asked my parents again about this, hehe..

They said that other person judge you better than yourself, but I will try to describe my self here. I can say that I'm a moody person, even though I don't like to show my real emotions to people around. I also like to help other people who needs help, even sometimes I do it without thinking first.

My parents said that sometimes I didn't think greatly about my health. But, in reality, I really love sports. Sometimes I play tennis with my friends at holiday, but mostly I play futsal at Saturday or Sunday with my futsal team in Bandung.

If you ask me what I like most, I can describe it in three words. Movies ,novels, and Arsenal FC. I love movies so much, that I almost asked my friend to go to movies every week if there is a movie that I think is good. I don't have a specific genre that I like, I enjoy all kind of movies. But if I have to choose, I prefer watching drama and dark/black comedy movies than action or romantic movies. The same thing goes to novels too, only this time I didn't read all kind of it. My favorites so far are fiction and fantasy novels. My favorite authors all the time are Agatha Christie and John Grisham. I have all of their books, and I keep them in good condition until now.
About Arsenal FC, if you didn't know about it, it is one of the best football team in England. I'm a big fan of them since I was 7 years old, and I keep supporting them until now no matter what happened or what people say about it.

I think I have write long enough about my self. If you would like to know me better, you can meet and talk to me personaly, and perhaps, you will know me better, hehehe..
That's all from me guys, thank you...

task1: Tami

Assalamu'alaikum guys. first of all I want to say sorry if my english is bad, especially in the grammar. I 'm studying to make it better now,hehehe... let's start!

My full name is Iswiati Utamiputeri. My friends usually call me Tami. I'm the first daughter of my parents and the first grand children of my grandmother. thats why they like to call me "mba ami". Back to the meaning of my name, my first name is Iswiati. It comes from my parents names, which is Iswinardi and Yatty. My last name is Utamiputeri. My dad said that "Utami" is adapted from the word "utama" which means the first. "puteri" as we know, it means a daughter. But, my dad has another meaning for "puteri". He said that it can also adapted from word "computer", because I was born in the time when computer is has been use to help human problem. Computer makes everything easier. I was born in the Computer Era.

i'm a kind of a moody person. I can do everything better when my mood is high. It is not depending on the time. like now, I can do my homework everytime when I think good, even in the early morning or in the late night. my family said that I'm the most sensitive person in the family because I can easily cry when something hurts me or when something touch my heart. I can easily laugh when I look or hear a funny things, even the other said "its not funny". I can feel what someone feel even they don't show it to me.

I love movie. The first thing that I will do when I hang out with my friends is watching movie. I also like listening some music, such as jazz and pop. My favorite singer are Tompi, Rika Roeslan, Dian Pramanaputra, George Benson, Al Jerau, Michael Buble, Pill Perry, The Groove, maliq n the essential, Ecoutez, etc. My other hobby is reading novel, such as Ayat-ayat cinta, 5 cm, ketika cinta bertasbih, twilight and so on. In the spare time, I usually do some sports, such as jogging, plays table tenis or pingpong, plays volley, bike cycling and more. oh, one more thing that now I like best to do in my holiday is hiking or having trip to the montain, forest, tourism area and another place that show how rich Indonesian land is. I think that is a little bit my activities in the spare time and I will close with a great sentence from Hendry Dunant. He said that a country will never lose their leader if the young people of that country like to venture on moutain, forest and sea.

thanks.Wassalam

Task 1: Some Basics About Aini

As a 19-year-old girl who's scared of heights, public speaking and adrenaline rushes (especially roller coasters), I consider myself very lucky to have found hobbies that do not include any of those things. But first, of course, I should introduce myself. My parents named me Nur Aini Annapurna, where "Nur" and "Aini" means "light" and "eye" in Arabic. The last part of my name is based on a mountain in the Himalayas, Annapurna, which is one of the most dangerous mountains to climb (Annapurna has a fatality rate of 40%) although the name itself in Sanskrit means "Goddess of Fertility".

I guess that naming me after a mountain made me interested in the great outdoors. Iwould rather spend my weekend camping than go shopping at the mall. Other than camping, Ialso enjoy whitewater rafting, canoeing or just sitting around a campfire while I enjoy the peace and freedom that's always felt when I'm away from the city. I love hiking, I love drinking water from rivers, I love bulding tents, I love collecting wood to make fire, I even love the sensation of waking up in a sleeping bag! Gosh, I love being outdoors!

But after high school, I have found another source of bliss, which is snorkelling. In ITB I joined the diving unit Nautica and so far I have really enjoyed spending my Saturday mornings practising diving skills at Sabuga and can't wait until I get my diving certificate!

Other than spending my time in the outdoors, I also love to read. I'm really passionate about reading so I have a lot of favourite books, but some of my all-time favourites are Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Into Thin Air, and anything by Agatha Christie. I'm not really into Indonesian teenlit, because theyr'e mainly about teen romances with a cliche storyline and a predictable ending.

I'm quite an obsessive-compulsive perfectionist, which means I spend (or waste) a lot of time fussing over details and making myself too stressed from thinking about it too much. My biggest ambition at the moment is to get into geology and either become an expert vulcanologist, archeologist/paleontologist or work in the Arctic region, away from civilization. My main reason for choosing geology as my major is because I want to work outdoors and the prospect of volcano research and Indonesia's history is still quite big. I don't want to work in the oil or mining industry because then I'll be like the rest of the sheep in the herd...

Cheers!

Task 01: Hello... My Name is Gede...

Task one is about my self, actually I don't know how to tell you about my self. But I will start it with my name first. My name is I Gede Mahendra Jaya, as you see from my name, I am a Balinese. My name have a Bali meaning on it, first "I" is a word that show the gender of the name holder, which is "I" for boy and "Ni" for girl. Next is "Gede" which is word that show you the order of birth, which "Gede" mean as the first born child, so I am a big brother for my little brother/sister, but in Indonesian "Gede" means big so it is kind of mocking me if people called me "Gede". "Mahendra Jaya" is the name that my family choose from some interesting ritual. They pick names as many as my birth calculations, then they write one name on one paper and put each paper on each lamp. The name on the lamp that have longest live is choosen. On campus most of my friends called me Gede, maybe because I come from Bali or it is easier to remember because it is like my appearance.

Enough with the name, let's move on to something that I like. I do have certain like and dislike, regarding things, people, style, thoughts, and behaviour. But I don't like to judge people just because they do somethings that I don't like intentionally or not to me or to my environment. I tended to think about it first. Like "why did they do that?" or "what is the point of doing that?".

Put that aside, I really like to read manga and watch anime on my lovely computer. Manga is a typically japanese comic which is had many genres nowdays, and anime is a japanese animated cartoon. The most manga genres that I likes are comedy, school life, romance with a little ecchi. Ecchi is another way to say "perverted" in Japanese, but its connotation is not strong . Manga or Anime that contain a lot of sexual humor but no outright pornography are often referred to as ecchi. It is really enjoyable to read mangas when I have enough spare time with me. But I don't have many mangas collections on book form, I had it a lot on softcopy form.

Besides reading mangas and watching anime, I love to net surfing. Just surfing around looking for some urban legends or a story about human culture a long with earth history. But sometimes I don't have any mood to read mangas or surfing on the net. When times like that comes, I usually kill my time on reading any thick book or just go out aimlesly wondering around town. Well, I think that's all about my self that I can tell you, see you around.

Task 1: I am Juda...Hello, Everybody!!

-Moved-

Task 1 : Me, Gabriella Alodia

Me? Such a complicated person, with so many interests that has no focus yet. First thing, I love my name, Gabriella Alodia. My parents gave me that name because they loved Gabriella Sabatini, a female tennis player from Argentina, while Alodia was given by my grandfather after he read a book about names. He found that it was a really great name for me and my parents thought that it was beautiful.
I amazed that my name is quite a describe for things that I love and how I think about life. Just like Gabriella Sabatini, I love sports. Well, I don't really like field sports like tennis, basketball, badminton, etc. I prefer outdoor-adventural sports because it gave me great experiences like bright starry nights, fresh air, and great views to enjoy. It also gave me friends for life, because in this kind of sport, we have to rely on each others. That's why I choose geology as my major subject in this institute, I love nature and I would like to learn much more about it. Then about Alodia, simply, it means "rich." Maybe that's why I have a big ego. Not that I'm so self-centered, I always think that actually rich people could change the world because they have just the thing that is so important for people who have original ideas. Unfortunately, sometimes people with ideas don't have that much money to actualize their brilliant ideas. So, if you ask about my aspire, I would simply answer that I want to be a rich person, so that I could contribute money for my friends' ideas in the future. I love photography, cinematography, music, reading books, and sometimes history. I believe those kind of things will always change the world, because every little thing in this world needs media to deliver new inventions and again, ideas. About history, I love it because it will always be a part of this big, big world, and I want to be a part of it. It's kind of funny to figure out that all of those things (photography, etc.), needs money.
That's who I am, Gabriella Alodia. A girl who loves adventures, media, and aspires to be a rich person.

Task 1: About Myself

What my name is not important; people call me with different versions. On the birth certificate, my name is Kirana Kania. However, it seems everyone thinks the original version is just too boring. Therefore, they create variations - from normal "Kirana" or "Kania" to "Kirantong", "Kantong", "Kiranti", and numerous other names. But let's not meddle to much within this topic.
What defines me more than my name would be my interests. I have a lot of them. But I'll just write about my biggest passion. Six letters: debate. And that's what I do. I join ITB's Student English Forum or, as others call it, SEF. And there, I debate. What I debate about would be enough to fill up a book. I debate about hundreds of topics. It can be governmental policies, environment, homosexuality. I practically debate about everything. Debating has been, and is, the word that defines the peak of my ambitions.
